“Identità svelate” nasce per rendere visibile un tratto nascosto, e da me percepito, nell’identità delle persone incontrate.

La complessità dei tempi moderni e la difficoltà delle giovani generazioni di riuscire a influenzare i cambiamenti della società hanno portato molte persone a soffocare il proprio pensiero e a rinunciare a lottare per i propri ideali. Cresce in molti di noi un sedimento di cose sempre più taciute e nascoste.

Le persone sono il soggetto principale di questo lavoro in cui i volti, rivelati come visti attraverso un fotogramma di pellicola, mi fanno percepire la linea di confine che ogni essere umano ha interiormente, insieme con tutto il proprio piccolo carico di mistero.

Il ritratto è per eccellenza espressione della ricerca dell’identità, ma ora stiamo vivendo una epoca in cui il ritratto fotografico è visto il più delle volte come un gesto automatizzato, un semplice riflesso condizionato.  

Con “Identità svelate” desidero restituire una grammatica fotografica ricca di suggestioni meta psicoanalitiche trasfigurando i volti e facendo emergere, dal verso del loro negativo, una identità sdoppiata che dialoga con una sensibilità più ricca di sfumature di quanto siamo portati a credere.

Ciò che cerco è la straordinaria singolarità di ogni persona andando oltre la linea di confine del visibile, singolarità che percepisco rivelarsi a me in un preciso e particolare istante durante una qualsiasi conversazione, perché l’identità e la personalità dipendono anche dagli accadimenti del reale; dunque sono sensibili e suscettibili a impatti come il mio incontro e la conversazione appena sostenuta.

La particolarità che da sempre indago e difendo è proprio la nostra singolarità. Noi siamo anche i tratti che nascondiamo, che possono essere scomodi perché escono fuori dai canoni e non ci conformano agli altri. E’ in questi punti che possiamo scoprire cosa si muove dentro di noi e avere consapevolezza rispetto al nostro modo unico, singolare, con cui ci distinguiamo dagli altri. Mi affido al mio istinto per raggiungere uno dei punti non ancora illuminati dell’IO.

Il ritratto è la metafora dell’unicità e simultaneamente linea di confine della nostra separazione dal resto del mondo, luogo di cui non potremo mai fare a meno per rivendicare la nostra visione del mondo stesso.

“Identità svelate” ci contiene tutti perché ci sollecita ad un atto di introspezione accompagnata da sentimenti e stimoli prodotti dal pensiero di chi guarda.

“Revealed Identities” was created to expose a normally hidden identity trait I felt in the people I met.

The complexity of modern times and the increasing difficulty for younger generations in influencing and changing society have led many people to stifle their thinking and give up fighting for their ideals. Sediments of increasingly unspoken and hidden things are growing and growing inside many of us.

People are the main subject of this work, in which their faces seen as through a film frame make me perceive the internal boundary every human being has, protecting their own little amount of untold secrets and mysteries.

Portraits are the medium par excellence for conveying a search for identity — nowadays, though, we’re living in an era in which it merely just feels like an automated gesture, a conditioned reflex. With “Revealed Identities” I wish to give a grammar rich in meta-psychoanalytic suggestions back to portraits, through face transfiguration and exposing (via its own negative image) a split identity connected to much deeper and more insightful perceptions than we may initially think.

The extraordinary uniqueness of each person is what I’m looking for, often by treading beyond the visible; a peculiarity I can perceive in a single, precise moment possibly during any kind of occurrence: identity and personality also depend on reality, in fact, and are therefore susceptible to events such as my encounter or the conversation I just had with the subject.

This peculiarity I’ve always been searching and fighting for precisely represents our singularity. We also are the things and behaviors we hide from others, possibly because they’re unconventional, out of the ordinary, or just won’t let us effortlessly conform to others.

Portraits are a metaphor for uniqueness and, at the same time, the boundary we set between us and the rest of the world, a place we could never do without, in order to claim our own outlook of it all.

“Revealed Identities” contains each and every one of us precisely because it urges the viewer to do an act of introspection, guided by their own thoughts and feelings.

“Identities Revealed” a été créé pour rendre visible un trait caché et perçu dans l’identité des personnes que j’ai rencontrées.

La complexité des temps modernes et la difficulté pour la jeune génération d’influencer les changements dans la société ont conduit de nombreuses personnes à étouffer leur pensée et à renoncer à se battre pour leurs idéaux. Un sédiment de choses de plus en plus inavouées et cachées grandit chez beaucoup d’entre nous. 

Les personnes sont le sujet principal de ce travail dans lequel les visages, révélés comme à travers un cadre de film, me font percevoir la limite que chaque être humain a en lui, ainsi que toute sa petite charge de mystère.

Le portrait est par excellence l’expression de la recherche d’identité, mais nous vivons aujourd’hui une époque où le portrait photographique est le plus souvent perçu comme un geste automatisé, un simple réflexe conditionné.  

Avec “Identités révélées”, je souhaite restituer une grammaire photographique riche en suggestions méta-psychanalytiques en transfigurant les visages et en faisant émerger, du verso de leur négatif, une identité dédoublée qui dialogue avec une sensibilité plus riche en nuances qu’on ne veut bien le dire.

Ce que je cherche, c’est l’extraordinaire singularité de chaque personne au-delà de la frontière du visible, une singularité que je perçois comme se révélant à moi à un instant précis et particulier au cours de toute conversation, parce que l’identité et la personnalité dépendent aussi des événements du réel ; elles sont donc sensibles et susceptibles d’impacts tels que ma rencontre et la conversation que je viens d’avoir.

La singularité que j’ai toujours étudiée et défendue est précisément notre singularité. Nous sommes aussi les traits que nous cachons, qui peuvent être inconfortables parce qu’ils sortent du cadre et ne sont pas conformes aux autres. C’est là que nous pouvons découvrir ce qui bouge en nous et prendre conscience de notre façon unique et singulière de nous distinguer des autres. Je me fie à mon instinct pour atteindre l’un des points non éclairés du Moi.

Le portrait est une métaphore de l’unicité et en même temps la ligne de démarcation de notre séparation du reste du monde, un lieu dont nous ne pouvons jamais nous passer pour revendiquer notre vision du monde lui-même.

“Identities Unveiled” nous contient tous parce qu’elle nous incite à un acte d’introspection accompagné de sentiments et de stimuli produits par les pensées du spectateur.
